Charting paths, exploring repertoire
The German-Israeli duo began their artistic collaboration in 2008 during an exchange program at the Juilliard School in New York and has since been exploring repertoire beyond the standard works for violin and piano.
A highlight of their shared journey was winning the 2nd prize at the 2009 International Competition “Schubert and Modern Music” in the rare category of violin/piano duo, followed by a tour through Argentina.
As a result of their intensive collaboration, the duo recorded a CD titled “Myths and Melodies – Music Between the Wars” with the label “Audite” in 2021. The CD was released in early 2023 and has already been awarded the “Supersonic” Award.
This version keeps the tone formal while staying faithful to the original content.

Much Ado About Nothing? Unfathomable? Not at all!

Mythical
Both performers breathe together, explore their parts with sensitivity, complement each other in the best possible way, and find a distinctive expression for each movement, for every passage. […] Stefan Hempel lets his violin sing, sob, and exult in a multitude of nuances, while Daniel Seroussi, at the piano, is an exceptionally empathetic partner who captures the precise emotional tone for each moment.
